I will be signing copies of my new book, The Children's History of Leeds, on Saturday 30th July at 2pm. This will take place at Waterstones, Albion Street, Leeds.
I must say a big thank you to Waterstones who are great supporters of my books.
The history book looks fantastic! It is a 32 page illustrated book that is aimed at Key Stage 2 children (age 7-11). Each page has a helpful timeline that shows how Leeds grew from a small settlement to a huge city. There are imaginary accounts of different times in Leeds' history. These are written from a child's point of view. There are lots of illustrations and photos which makes the book seem less text like and more like a comic (but in an informative way).
The book has been checked by local historians and educational experts.
I had a lot of fun writing this book and I'm so pleased that it has turned out so brilliantly - big thank you to Hometown Publishers for asking me to write it. The official release date is 16th July, I will put it for sale on my site shortly after.
